The beat sits below the juncture of the Euchan River and the Ryehill Estate fishing’s and adjacent to the old Sanquhar Castle ruins. The local scenery is outstanding and sits adjacent to the lower section of the famous Southern Upland Way
 

The Euchan waterfall is just a 15 minute walk upstream and when the river is in spate a visit is spectacular when Salmon are running upriver.
